Welcome to our Daily Betting Tips for your lazy Sunday morning of NBA action. Nothing kick starts the week like a good win so lets get to it...
Slam DunkMemphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Clippers 3am AWST, 6am AEST. My Pick - Memphis Grizzlies + 2.5 @ $1.89. As we saw with Washington earlier in the season, if a coach loses his players the games become very tough to win. I think it's safe to say that Vinnie Del Negro has lost complete control of his side based on the last week of horrendous play we saw from the revamped Clippers. 20 foot jumpers on every possession is not not an indication that everyone wants to play team ball. Add the harsh comments made by players about his offensive and defensive sets and this spells trouble. Unless VDN is fired before this afternoon's game the Grizzlies should roll right through Lob City with a W. The fact that they are +2.5 makes this a slam dunk in my book.
Mid Range JAtlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards 7am AWST, 10am AEST. My Pick - Washington Wizards - Win @ $2.28. My hat goes off to the GM of the Wizards for trading out both Nick Young and JaVale McGee whilst managing to secure Nene in return. Both players were a cancer to that team along with Andre Blatche (who sadly remains with the team but won't see big minutes for a while) and now the team actually resembles a basketball team you would be happy to see win. Wall is now playing with some proper team players and the team feels like they want to help each other win games despite being closer to a playoff birth than Vinnie Del Negro is to winning Coach of the Year. Atlanta on the other hand are injury riddled with Horford, Pachulia, Williams, Radmanovic and Green all likely to be sporting street clothes. The team has also been riding the good play of Joe Johnson and Josh Smith so could be lulled into false confidence today.
3-Pointer[caption id="" align="alignright" width="171" caption="Expect Dirk to light up the scoreboard today"][/caption] Dallas Mavericks @ Houston Rockets 8am AWST, 11am AEST. My Pick - Dallas Mavericks Leads Match at End of All 4 Quarters @ $5.35. A divisional match-up between the reigning champs and an injury riddled Houston Rockets and the reigning champs aren't favourites to win? With Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin still out for Houston this matchup is going to be tough for them. Dallas have shown sparks of what made them the champs recently and Dirk seems happier with his knee than earlier in the season. Let's be honest here, Scola isn't going to be able to guard him so expect him to light up the scoreboard.
Half Court Buzzer BeaterToronto Raptors @ Chicago Bulls 8am AWST, 11am AEST. My Pick - Toronto Raptors - Win @ $10.50. With Derrick Rose still out this may be the only hope Toronto has to beat Chicago. They have a full strength side with Calderon and Bargnani back from injury and DeRozen has found a scoring touch that was lacking earlier in the season. If Chicago drops the ball like they did the last time these teams met then Toronto could walk away with a W and some lucky punters some extra spending money for the week ahead.
Worth a LookSacramento Kings @ Golden State Warriors - Golden State Warriors -2.5 @ $1.92 [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="177" caption="The Warriors should be able to knock off the Kings despite being Curry-less"][/caption] Coming off some tough losses in their previous few games against Western Conference rivals I expect the Warriors to bounce back and win some key match-ups against an up and down Sacramento team. With Steph Curry still out and Monta Ellis traded to Milwaukee (for no usable pieces this season) the Warriors have been playing well with David Lee, Klay Thompson and Nate Robinson stepping up. It wouldn't be a Warriors team if they didn't somehow shoot themselves in the foot and it is looking less likely that their 1st round draft pick will be in the top 7 so congratulations are in order for Utah. Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks - Game Score Under 204.0 @ $1.94 Both teams are on the last game of a back to back to back and will play again after only one day's rest, so this has the hallmarks of a very sloppy game. Hopefully this happens on the offensive end of the court but even so it only takes one quarter to ruin an over/under. Dallas Mavericks @ Houston Rockets - Dallas Mavericks +3.0 @ $1.87 As previously stated I don't see how Dallas can lose this one and tacking on a plus three point advantage gives them that little bit extra breathing room if the Rockets put up some fight.
Daily $20 MultiMemphis Grizzlies To Win @ $2.14 Dallas Mavericks +3.0 @ $1.87 Total $4.00 Season Winnings - $-20.00
Previous Days ResultsThe 3rd quarters in three games killed four of my results with Philly outscoring Boston 37-17, Phoenix outscoring Indiana 32-18 and the Raptors outscoring the Knicks 31-17. The Portland-Lakers game went as expected despite some second half worries about the over/under and a double OT thriller for the T-Wolves and Thunder ensured that the over/under was smashed by 79 points. Orlando covered the minus 9 margin so I ended with a 4/9 success rate.
