Featured GamesFeatured Game #1 – Boston @ Philadelphia. 8am WST/10am EST Line – Boston +6.5 ($1.97) Over/Under – 177.5 ($1.91) The race for the Atlantic Division title heats up on with Boston closing to within half a game after defeating Milwaukee today. Boston are on the last of their current eight game road trip but have scored two strong wins in their last two against strong Eastern Conference rivals with their strangling second half defence. The big three remain in Bean Town and that has got to have a positive effect in the locker room. Philly are coming off a tough stretch where they played New York (twice), Miami, Indy and Chicago. Having managed to only win once against those teams (a D’Antoni led Knicks on March 11) I fully expect Philly to come out looking for blood. Look for this one to be a defensive battle for both teams and for the score to reflect this. My Bets – Boston +6.5 or Game Score Under 177.5 Featured Game #2 - Portland @ Lakers. 10:30am WST/12:30pm EST Line – Portland +9.0 ($1.90) Over/Under – 194.5 ($1.93) After trading for Ramon Sessions the Lakers have looked a lot more fluid in their offense with the only problem revolving around sorting out the minutes at crunch time. On the flip side Portland have waved the white flag and blown up their team, trading Wallace to New Jersey for a 1st round draft pick and Camby to Houston. Despite this they have been playing well (minus the New York and Milwaukee blowouts) behind the strong play of Batum and Aldridge. Their schedule does not involve too many games or much travel in the next week so don’t expect them to let their guard down and drop a “schedule” game. My Bets – Portland +9.0 or Game Score Over 194.5
Worth a LookNew York @ Toronto (New York -5.5 @ $1.95) With New York undefeated under Mike Woodson the -5.5 line is very generous. With Calderon back playing matador defence Linsanity should have a bumper game that lifts the overall effort of the side. Phoenix @ Indiana (Indiana -3.5 @ $1.92) With Phoenix coming to the end of an eastern seaboard epic against playoff teams I like the odds given to Indy at minus 3.5. Cleveland @ Orlando (Orlando -9 @ $1.90) Now the Dwight issue has been sorted, Orlando looks more settled and despite the play of sure bet ROTY, Kyrie Irving, I expect Dwight to dominate this game against young Tristan Thompson. Given Ryan Anderson’s shooting touch coming back to him and with Jason Richardson back in the line up, Orlando should beat the line on this one. Minnesota @ Oklahoma City (Game Score Over 210.5 @ $2.00) With OKC gaining their mojo back and proving a point against a lacklustre Clippers side and the T-Wolves still in playoff contention I’d expect this one to be a shootout. Serge Iblocker isn’t a great rebounder for his size so Love should go to town on him in the post and compliment it with his long range. Westbrook won’t be challenged against Ridnour and Durant is Durant. Player Special Bet of the Day – Jeremy Lin Over 7.5 Assists @ $2.15
