The monkey is finally off LeBron's back. King James is crowned Finals MVP and Miami win the NBA Championship to give James his long awaited first ring. After 9 seasons in the league the best player on the planet has won a well deserved Championship. It took 2 seasons after assembling the Big 3 in Miami, the well documented controversy of James leaving Cleavland and recruiting Chris Bosh to join Dwayne Wade at the Heat. I don't think I have worn my James #23 Cavaliers Jersey since his move to South Beach. Maybe I will order a #6 Heat Jersey and join the King James band wagon again. There will always be LeBron haters even if he continues to dominate the game and win countless MVP awards and 5 or 6 rings and there will always be that pressure on him to succeed. Comparisons to Michael Jordan have been there since day 1 and the comparisons will never end. Jordan took 7 seasons to win his first title and backed it up again the following two seasons, had a year off to play a bit of golf and baseball and came back and won another 3 rings with the Bulls. Now that James has finally won a title will he be as determined as this season? Or will he go back to his old ways? I for one like the new humble, book reading, meditating no tweeting focused Lebron! Next season may be his best chance to win another title and silence some of the critics. Going back to the normal 82 game regular season (less demanding on the players bodies, with more days in between games) and the only competition out of the West likely to be the Thunder again. Miami should make it to the finals again unless the ageing Celtics drink from the well of eternal youth or Derrick Rose makes a miraculous return at the end of the season and is in MVP form. If the Heat can keep their stars together, find a tough centre, develop their youth in Cole and Harris along with the teams new - now we can conquer anything confidence, LeBron's dynasty with Miami will begin!
