Australia's high demand for more NBA action has ESPN Australia telecasting an increased amount of games on Foxtel this season.On the back of Australia's demand for more NBA on their television screens, ESPN Australia today announced they've increased the amount of games they'll broadcast this season for Foxtel subscribers. After the 2013-14 NBA Season officially tips off on Wednesday October 30 Australian time, ESPN will provide the defending champion Miami Heat's match-up with the Philadelphia 76ers LIVE on Thursday the 31st of October at 10am (All Times AEST). To further celebrate the opening of the new season, ESPN are telecasting a double header LIVE on Saturday November 2 which will feature the Miami Heat at the Brooklyn Nets from 11am, and the San Antonio Spurs at the Los Angeles Lakers from 1:30pm. This double header is just the beginning of ESPN's 10 Saturday double headers they'll air throughout the season which allows more Aussies to indulge in their NBA cravings. The NBA's annually renowned Christmas Day schedule will also feature on ESPN as three LIVE games will be shown on Boxing Day Australian time. The 2014 NBA All Star Weekend will also be aired again on ESPN including the All Star Game, All Star Saturday Night Contests, Rookie Challenge Game and the ESPN Celebrity Game. The increased NBA coverage this season on ESPN is a positive sign for the growth of the game in Australia. With more fans jumping on the NBA bandwagon, Australia is making realistic steps towards possibly hosting a pre-season game down under in seasons to come.
