Wow what a week! The west has been silent on the court but off the court it's been lively as banter is pouring in for the Conference Finals. Whereas in the east its been ferocious on and off the court as the stronger teams have hit their strides in the face of adversity and elimination. The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat did a fine job to prevail from their tough and rugged series. It's no coincidence that your NBA Player Of The Week resembles a hard fighting warrior that will push people around and never give in. That man is....

Why He Won Our Player Of The WeekWith win or go home ringing in Kevin Garnett's mind all week it has spurred him on to perform at a higher level which has just pushed Boston over the line in their 7 game encounter against the Philadelphia 76ers. With Garnett playing as well as he did it allowed Boston receive an added edge in the paint as it forced Philly to really struggle on offense. It was of vital importance that Kevin stood up because a team that prides itself of defence needed to have a forceful presence inside the paint for playoff intensity games. Kevin Garnett after the game 7 win vs the 76ers
"I was more focused on D. Anytime you get a win it's satisfying. Tomorrow is not an option - play with a sense of urgency, win or go home."After Garnett's 18 point and 13 rebound game on Sunday the Celtics now move on to the Conference Finals where they'll meet the Miami Heat. Kevin must play with the same sense of urgency he did in game 7 against Miami as this Heat team is much better than the 76ers. Boston does not have a chance to leave the Conference Finals without him.
Strengths and WeaknessesStrengths: They're aren't too many players in the league that can play defence like Garnett does, let alone shoot a consistent mid range jump shot. When he approaches a game he always brings leadership, hustle and encouragement. It gets his whole team going and players from all around the league will tell you that he can really get under your skin as an opposing player. Weaknesses: How long can Kevin Garnett keep up this high level of play for in the playoffs? Under the pressures of a lockout season and playing well above 35 minutes a night now the question is how much gas does he have left in the tank. Will Miami run him up and down the court more than he can handle? A tired Garnett will get him shooting short on his jumpers and a step behind on defence.
