Australian Patty Mills is now a free man after the Blazers renounced his contract on Sunday and is expected to sign with the San Antonio Spurs as soon as all the paperwork and Visa issues are resolved. Mills will come off the bench to compliment All-Star point guard, Tony Parker, and join a team with a real shot at going deep in the playoffs. It will be good to finally see Mills back in the NBA after a lengthy debacle with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers, and contract issues with Portland. With the Spurs currently at 29-14 and second overall in the West Conference, Mills is being given a great opportunity to join a team filled with experienced veterans. The Blazers on the other hand, made the last minute decision to scrap most of their roster just before the trade deadline. With no intention of making playoffs they look to finish as low as possible in a hope to make a quick rebuild. So this should be a good move for Patty, career wise. Good luck Patty!
