Andrew Gaze is a legend among Australian Basketball (he is the NBL all-time leading points scorer) but was not able to replicate his success in his limited time in the NBA.
Gaze began his international career with a season of college basketball at Seton Hall in 1988-89 (where his team made the NCAA finals) before trying out with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1999.
The SuperSonics did not offer him a contract and four years later Gaze was signed by the Washington Bullets where he would go on to play seven games for a total of 70 mins, 22 points at an average of 3.1 PPG during the 1993-94 NBA season.
Gaze returned to the NBL in 1994 where he would go on to win 5 NBL MVP awards in a row. After his NBL success, Gaze headed back to the NBA signing with the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA 1998-99 season.
Gaze played 19 games that season for a total of 58 minutes but battled injuries for the last half of the season. Despite being left off the playoff roster, Gaze received a championship ring for the Spurs 1999 championship title win.
