Aussie punter Ben Graham has reached a one-year agreement with the Detroit Lions. Graham, formerly an Arizona Cardinal, joined the Lions mid last year, replacing the injured Ryan Donahue and held the position for the remainder of the season. [caption id="" align="alignright" width="211" caption="Recently, Ben Graham was ranked the 30th best punter in the NFL by the Bleacher Report, based on his 2011 performance. "][/caption] He will come to camp this preseason ready to compete with the younger punter, who has now recovered from an injury to his quadriceps. Ben Graham was forced into the natrional spotlight when he punted for the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII against the Pittsburgh Steelers, nearly becoming a Super Bowl champion. Before the Cardinals he had short stints with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. During his limited playing time in 2011 Graham managed a 38.7 yard per punt average and pinned the opposition within their 20 ten times. He rejoins fellow punters Matt McBriar and Sav Rocca as the only Australians currently in possession of, or competing for, a starting job in the NFL.
