Week 2 of the 2013 NFL season is already here so lets have a look at the match-ups for this weekThere were some mixed results last week (9 out of 16) that included my bet of the week being a complete bust and the Buccaneers ruining a great multi, however my tip of Tennessee (+3) at $1.92 did well. Week one is always super tough so hopefully we have some better luck this week.
NY Jets ($5.65) @ New England ($1.15) As good as it was to see Geno Smith lead his team to victory the Bucs are not on the same level as the Patriots. The Patriots barely got out of Buffalo alive but they should be dominant start to finish at home. Tip: Take New England/New England HT/FT at $1.28
St. Louis ($3.35) @ Atlanta ($1.34) Both teams proved last week that they can score points. Sam Bradford utilized his new weapons well and Matt Ryan did well with some injuries in his receiver core. Ryan is nearly unstoppable at home. Falcons in a shootout. Tip: Take Over 47.5 points at $1.92
Cleveland ($3.35) @ Baltimore ($1.34) Wow, the AFC NORTH is 0-4. Cleveland did not live up to its preseason hype and Baltimore had no answers to Peyton Manning. Joe Flacco was elite at home last year and the Baltimore D will shutdown Weeden like Miami did. Tip: Take Baltimore at $1.34
Carolina ($1.69) @ Buffalo ($2.20) Were Buffalo good or were the Patriots bad? Hard to judge that one. What I do know is Carolina shut down Lynch and limited Wilson to one touchdown. EJ Manuel & CJ Spiller your next. Good luck but I’m taking Carolina. Tip: Take Carolina at $1.69
Minnesota ($3.15) @ Chicago ($1.37) Christian Ponder is terrible. Until he improves, teams will be able to relatively shutdown Adrian Peterson. Chicago’s defense will be too tough for the Vikings. Forte & Marshall to come up big for Chicago. I’d even take the -6 at $1.93. Tip: Take Chicago at $1.37
Washington ($3.95) @ Green Bay ($1.26) One of these teams will start 0-2? Crazy. The Packers put up a good fight against 49ers & the Skins fought hard until the end. I will take Green Bay at home. Can’t wait to watch Clay Matthews & Ryan Kerrigan try to outdo each other. Tip: Take Green Bay at $1.26 or over 49.5 match points at $1.92
Tennessee @ Houston This will be a bloodbath. The bookies don’t even have a straight market on this game. Titans played okay against the Steelers but it was more the Steelers being terrible. Houston had a great comeback win. Should cover the line. Tip: Take Houston (-9.5) at $1.96
Miami ($2.20) @ Indianapolis ($1.69) Both teams had very ugly victories. When it comes to picking a winner in this game it comes down to Quarterbacks. I will take Andrew Luck over Ryan Tannehill 100/100 times. Luck is incredible in the 4th quarter. Colts in a close one. Tip: Take Indianapolis at $1.69
Dallas ($2.25) @ Kansas City ($1.66) Kansas City only beat Jacksonville. Need I say more? I can’t take them at that price until they beat someone like... hey the Cowboys. Happy to take the boys’ at this price. This might change if Dez Bryant is ruled out though. Tip: Take Dallas at $2.25 or +3 at $1.85
San Diego ($3.95) @ Philadelphia ($1.26) Some things never change, San Diego blowing big time leads and Philadelphia having an overhyped offseason only to let us down, oh wait... Philly didn’t let anyone down. Boy that offense is fast. Take Chip Kelly and those picture cards. Tip: Take Philadelphia (-9.5) at $2.05
Detroit ($1.83) @ Arizona ($2.00) Gee this is a tough one to judge. Calvin Johnson v Larry Fitzgerald is going to be great. My tip is don’t bet on this game at all and enjoy two of the finest wide receivers of the modern era. But if I had to choose, I’d go the Lions. Tip: Flip a coin. Honestly.
New Orleans ($1.57) @ Tampa Bay ($2.45) LAVONTE DAVID YOU OWE ME MONEY! What a dumb play to cost me that first week multi. Tampa will be easy to bet on this week by betting against them. New Orleans should win easy, they were better than I thought Tip: Take New Orleans at $1.57
Denver ($1.44) @ NY Giants ($2.85) Peyton might have 10 TD’s this week if the Giants turn it over like they did against Dallas. I’m taking the better Manning in this one and he should continue his winning record against his little brother. Not even the great Brandon Jacobs can save the Giants this week. Tip: Take Denver at $1.44
Jacksonville ($3.20) @ Oakland ($1.36) Should hear crickets at this game. Who would honestly watch this except maybe Jadeveon Clowney and Teddy Bridgewater who would be keen to see where they are playing next season. Terrelle Pyror is the only positive. Tip: Take Oakland at $1.36
San Francisco ($2.20) @ Seattle ($1.69) Looks like we’re not the only ones betting this week. Colin K and DangerRuss had a bet on whoever loses shaving an eyebrow. This is clearly the match of the round. Two powerhouse teams. Seattle at home is hard to bet against but they just did not do enough for me last week. I have to take the 49ers at that price but it could go horribly wrong. Tip: Take 49ers at $2.20
Pittsburgh ($3.50) @ Cincinnati ($1.31) The Steelers were putrid last week. The Bengals were close to beating a good Bears team on the road. On that you have to go with Dalton and his Bengals but Pittsburgh could just swipe the slate clean and come out firing. Tip: Take Cincinnati at $1.31
