PACKERS AT SEATTLE IN MONDAY NIGHT FOOTY
On Betstars & Stripes last night (every Sunday evening at 8pm on 1116 SEN or www.sen.com.au
), US Sports broadcasting legend Ed Wyatt talked about the great work Seattle are doing in establishing a solid setup at the Seahawks.
They lost 20-16 at Arizona opening week, but the Cards are 3-0, so there is no shame in struggling to score against their killer defense. 2nd
week, the Hawks were great in comfortably exposing the Cowboys 27-7 in front of their home fans. It will be a big ask to win in Cheese-Head territory, but this game certainly is not the formality that some have made it out to be.
The Packers meanwhile entered the season as the overwhelming Super Bowl favourites, but now sit 2nd
on the betting lines; if the 49ers had won this week, it is safe to say that Green Bay would drop back to 3rd
. San Francisco impressed all and sundry with their 30-22 win in Green Bay in Week 1, and it is safe to say that Aaron Rodgers and his crew would be desperate to atone for that in their 2nd
home game of the season.
Their second game was a 23-10 win over Chicago, but their offense is yet to really click so it will be interesting to see if they raise the bar here. Aaron Rodgers passing line has been set at 290.5, and is paying $1.90 either way; we think he has
to go over that mark if the Packers are to win here.

The last time that the Pack played Seattle was back in 2009, and on paper you would think that they will run away with it; but we’re with Ed, and we rate this Seattle defense highly. Their special teams are also top-notch; last week they forced and recovered a fumble on a kick-off, and then blocked and returned for a touchdown on a punt in the very next series.
But it is on offense that the Seahawks need to find something special; they need to block effectively for rookie Quarterback Russell Wilson to find his receivers. He just looks so mature for a rookie!
Rodgers will be looking for Jermichael Finley at every opportunity, and we think that his case of the dropsies might be behind him. While we like this Hawks team, quality will shine through, and we think that Packers will cover the -3.0 line at $1.82 – but not by much! The game is live on ESPN at 10:30am AEST Tuesday morning. SUPER BOWL FUTURES MARKET:
The Texans are outright favourites here for the Super Bowl after their 3-0 start, moving from $7.50 this time last week into $6.50. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are still being treated with caution by punters, shortening to $26 – they are now in the Top 10 of punting, and were $81 just seven days ago.
The 49ers shock loss to Minnesota sees them drift from $6.50 to $8, while the Saints have more than doubled in the past fortnight - $31 out to $67 as their loveless campaign continues.
Baltimore’s last ditch win against the Patriots saw them move in from $15 to $11, and they are tapping their vanquished foes on the shoulder; the Patriots drifted slightly from $8.50 to $9.50, but despite heartbreakingly missing out on the points, they should be enthused that they made Baltimore sweat so badly at home; the Ravens now move to 13 straight victories in front of their home fans!
The undefeated Falcons ($11), Manning-led Giants ($21) and Broncos ($23) and Philadelphia($23) round out the top 10 in the Super Bowl market.
Of the teams to have won 2 games, the Bills ($67) remain friendless, while the inability to score a touchdown this week saw the Chargers drift from $21 to $26. Chicago are $26, the Jets are $41, Bengals $67 and Minnesota a whopping $151 – was their upset over the 49ers a sign of things to come, or a massive fluke?
