The All Star festivities are great to watch when they come around as they put players through unique competitions. Sometimes fans will find something they have never seen from a player and it will send shock waves throughout the league. The NBA are looking for 3 new players to step up to the plate and combat defending Skills Challenge champion Tony Parker for the 2013 Skills Challenge competition.
Ricky RubioNow we have to hope that Ricky Rubio is fit and healthy for a Skills Challenge appearance and if he is he would make the perfect wild card for the event. Rubio's uncanny ability to pass the ball would see him breeze through the passing gates, he's just going to have to hope he can knock down a free throw jumper in his first attempt or two to seriously be considered for a win.
Chris PaulI don't remember the last time Chris Paul was apart of the Skills Challenge. Half his career injuries have plagued him so that has played a large part of that. Although Paul has maintained his fitness, basketball skills and his health so that is reason enough to get the magical point guard Chris Paul to the challenge.
Grevis VasquezVasquez has had a breakout season to this point with the New Orleans Hornets. In the last 12 months he has received his chance as you know who was moved onto the Los Angeles Clippers. Ranking top 5 in assists league wide and the effort he put in scoring and leading the team with the absence of Eric Gordon was exceptional. He has shown us the Skills worthy of the All Start arena.
Manu GinobiliManu Ginobili as he has gotten in the later stages of his career has become more of a passing two guard. He has always had the ability to thread the ball through someone's legs and has found gaps where none were humanly visible. He would give the young guys a run for their money and would also provide rivalry with defending champion and long time team mate Tony Parker.
Damian LillardLillard has blossomed into an unusual rookie. He shows the poise and experienced demeanor of a veteran point guard while possessing the speed and quickness of a young athlete. Kyrie Irving as a rookie last season got the call to Orlando for the Skills Challenge so if there were another rookie to land a spot this year it should rightly be Damian Lillard.
