Sometimes fans will find something they have never seen from a player and it will send shock waves throughout the league. This year the NBA are looking for 5 more contestants that will challenge the 2012 3 Point Shooting champion Kevin Love. Or a fresh 6 if his recent injury is too much for him.
Ryan AndersonThis was an easy choice. Yes he was picked last year in front of his home crowd in Orlando but this guy is a machine when it comes to shooting 3 pointers. He leads the league in made three's again this year, averaging 3.4 a game! He has such an automatic shot and is used to taking one after another that he should be the down right favourite.
Danny GreenHe is perhaps San Antonio's best 3 point shooter, which is saying a lot considering they lead the league with a 39% clip from down town a year ago. His stroke allows him to jack up 3 after 3 and he will constantly make around 40-45% for a season. He put 7 three's alone on the Dallas Mavericks in only 8 attempts, give him the ball this All Star Weekend.
Caron ButlerButler doesn't get as many minutes these days but he still has the ability to shoot the 3 at a world class level. When he gets hot, he's hot! He made a franchise record 9 3's earlier this year and will go off every now and then for 20-25 points for the Clippers.
J.J RedickHaving always shown the ability to make three's in bunches it's a surprise Redick isn't a regular for the 3 Point Contest. He's like a sniper and a pocket rocket rolled into one. Quite exciting to watch while on the court for the Magic he could make some waves if put into the contest.
Paul GeorgeHe probably belongs more in the dunk contest after what we saw last year (he should have won!), but it might be a good idea to try his hand at the 3 point Contest Showing improved range and consistency with no Danny Granger for the Pacers, this would be a test on where he stands with the rest of the elite shooters. or if they're really scratching the bottom of the barrel...
Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum Contest! That would be more like the ill-advised shot contest. Or the race to get benched first.
Well, there's no way I could pick a winner out of there no matter how much of a tank Ryan Anderson is. Who else could give Kevin Love and Ryan Anderson a run for their money? Photo Credit: Derick E. Hingle/US Presswire
